Fund raising

The cost of staging our larger performances is very high; the hire of premises and the payment to the professional players who make up our orchestra to name but two of the costs.


Therefore through the year we hold various fund raising events.

Supper Concerts in the Abbot’s Parlour

Supper Concerts at Abbey House in 2020


There will be four Supper Concerts this year.


The dates are: February 29th,  April 4th, June 20th & September 26th 


All concerts start at 7.30pm,.


Details of artists appearing will be announced shortly; the February concert will be another of the very popular Young Musicians evenings, featuring some of the amazingly talented students from Dean Close School.


As usual, the venue for the concerts will be The Abbot’s Parlour, Tewkesbury Abbey Vicarage. 


Tickets prices have been held at just £8 to include buffet supper and your first drink: what a bargain!  


All proceeds go to Philo funds so these concerts are an ideal way to have a great evening out and to support Philo at the same time.

The Songbards

Kathryn Skipp, Linda Parsons, John Quinn, David Parsons and their accompanist, Mair Shankster make up the Songbards.  They provide entertainments of songs, duets, quartets, prose and poetry, serious and humorous and donate their fees to Philomusica.
