Lyn became interested in singing and music when she joined the choir of Kempsey Church at the age of ten. After joining the Worcester Gilbert & Sullivan Society in 1971 she was given the opportunity to sing several solos. In 1976 Lyn became a member of Philomusica and has since sung solo on many occasions. Her repertoire includes the Mozart, Faure, Rutter and Brahms Requiems, several settings of the Mass by Schubert, Haydn and Mozart, Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, Haydn's The Creation, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Handel's Messiah, Beethoven’s Mass in C, The Spirit of England and The Light of Life, both by Elgar. Lyn has been a guest soloist for Worcester, Malvern and Churchdown Male Voice Choirs and is in much demand as a soloist at weddings. In addition Lyn enjoys performing songs from "The Shows", light opera and operetta. As well as singing with Philomusica, she is also a member of 'One Over the Eight', a vocal ensemble for all occasions. Lyn is currently studying with Linda Parsons and was fortunate enough to take part in Masterclasses with Rae Woodland, the famous British soprano, and Roderick Williams. |

Kathryn was born in Worcester and now lives and teaches in Gloucestershire after some time in Herefordshire; a true Three Counties lady. She has been involved with music all her life; as well as singing she plays piano, flute and recorder. She was, in 1983, the youngest member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and has sung in the semi-chorus of the Dream of Gerontius under Vernon Handley in St David’s Hall, Cardiff. She sang as a soloist in a celebration concert to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Parry’s birth in his own church at Highnam. She is currently studying with John Mitchinson and recently took part in Masterclasses with Sarah Walker and Roderick Williams. Kathryn’s solo performances include Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony, which was part of Philomusica’s 900th Concert, Mozart's Mass in C Minor, Haydn's The Creation, and The Angel in Elgar's The Apostles. As well as singing with Philomusica, Kathryn is also a member of the quartet, ‘The Songbards’. |

Born in York, Karen began singing at the age of 12 in a church choir. On moving to Nottingham five years later she joined a choral society. Since then she has sung in the chorus of many major works with professional orchestras and was invited to sing in the chorus of Mahler's Third Symphony with the Hallé Orchestra, conducted by James Loughran. Now living in Cheltenham, Karen currently sings with two choral societies, Cleeve Chorale and Philomusica, as well as undertaking solo work. Some of her solo engagements have included the Requiem by Maurice Duruflé, Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Willcocks’ Lux Perpetua and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. She particularly enjoys singing the music of Sir Edward Elgar and has sung a majority of his major choral works, including Mary Magdalene in The Kingdom, and the role of the Angel in The Dream of Gerontius in Tewkesbury Abbey, Music Makers in Pershore Abbey, and Light of Life. She also sings with Bel Canto Opera and has taken part in a number of stage productions including Martha, L’Elisir d’Amore, Don Pasquale, the Magic Flute as well as performing in the chorus of several concert version operas including Il Trovatore, Nabucco, The Masked Ball, and Aida. Karen also sings with a small group of eight singers who perform a mixed programme of light music in charity concerts throughout the county. Karen currently studies with Linda Parsons. |

Gaye was born and brought up in Bristol and began singing lessons at 13 with Margaret Thomas. Gaye continued lessons privately whilst at St Luke’s College, Exeter . A period of time working in London unfortunately curtailed singing and lessons so it was with great joy she was able to return to both when she joined Philomusica and began studying with Linda Parsons . |
